Clinicopathological evaluation of patients with postmenopausal bleeding in a tertiary care center

Postmenopausal bleeding (PMB) is frequent finding in 5-10% of women gynaecology clinic. About 10% these patients have primary or secondary malignancy. PMB requires complete assessment to ensure the absence malignancy and identify treat high risk such as those with endometrial hyperplasia. The aim this study investigate clinical significance pathology PMB. A retrospective on postmenopausal visiting a tertiary care center between 2016 January 2017 December was taken up for study. 80 were selected evaluated by pelvic USG, Endometrial biopsy histopathology. Maximum belonged age group 46-50 years (31.25%). 57.5% multiparous (parity>2). 53.75% had 1 5 after menopause. thickness (ET) > 4mm 86.25%. Majority ET 5-10mm (58.75%). Histopathological analysis curettings showed Proliferative phase 35%, disordered proliferative 17.5%, Atrophic Endometrium 13.75% carcinoma 11.25%. an important symptom which evaluation eliminate possibility Transvaginal sonography (TVS) first mode investigation but Histopathology serves gold standard definitive diagnosis.
